What is C.H.E.K

CHEK: Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology

C.H.E.K. qualified personal trainers have devoted themselves to gaining a higher understanding of the functions and dysfunctions of the human body. They can assess these through lifestyle, posture and movement analysis.

Balance is everything. Your CHEK Practitioner is skilled to map how your body moves when it is both balanced, and when it is out of balance – physically, nutritionally and emotionally.

With this information, as it relates to you, they know exactly what changes – nutritional, lifestyle, physical (stretching, mobilization, strengthening) will bring back equilibrium and vitality to you as a whole.

Becoming a C.H.E.K Practitioner, your trainer's programme design skill sets increase, as do the range and level of assessments that they are able to perform. This allows more precise identification of client issues, and therefore specific solutions can be found to address them. At the same time, a C.H.E.K Practitioner learns how to identify problems they should not work with, and which professional to refer these clients to for a resolution.

Your CHEK Practitioner understands that the body is a system of systems. Working together they allow health & vitality. As such - a system of systems - it is only as strong as its weakest link.

That is why your assessment includes the skeletal, spinal and muscular systems; nutrition, sleep and stress. This detail is used to tailor your programme the like of which you will not receive with any other trainer.

What is involved?

At healthfitz, your CHEK-centred approach includes:

  • Detailed pre-screening and assessments (approx. 2 hours).
    • Questionnaire is returned 3 days prior to the initial assessment appointment.
  • Programme design based on thorough assessment analysis
    • Encompassing physical & Holistic Lifestyle components.
  • Programme advice and coaching (1 hour sessions)
  • Systematic re-evaluation

What do I need for my C.H.E.K assessment?

For the assessment, please wear/bring shorts, t-shirt (sports bra for females) to your assessment. This allows your CHEK Practitioner to measure the spinal curves, joint range of motion, muscle strength and flexibility.

What is Metabolic Typing?

There are so many diets out there because we are all very different. Metabolic Typing is a nutritional guide, which takes these subtle differences into account. So, your food plan will be based upon your body’s unique biochemistry – which may experience some flux as your metabolism stabilises – and so you will look and feel great by eating the foods which work best for you. Diets don’t work. This is individualised, healthy eating. For life.

How many sessions will I need?

The time it takes to reach your goals is different for everyone. Should you be living with an unhealthy lifestyle for a long period of time, then you may need more time to reach your goals. Your determination to take on board the necessary lifestyle changes will determine your success. Making these changes may not be easy, and they do not promise quick results, but the results you will enjoy will be long lasting and sustainable.

What is the free consultation?

This is to determine the level of dedication needed to successfully achieve your goals. You will have time to ask questions about the training, lifestyle changes, and goals which may be involved in your programme.

What are your guarantees?

Your goals can be reached with your strict adherence to the guidelines set out for you. Depending on your challenges and starting point, clients achieve their goals over a range of time from months to possibly a couple of years – all dependent on their commitment and their individual starting points.

There are no quick fixes, fast results often do not last, and can be detrimental to your health. The C.H.E.K approach aims to guide you, gently, into a new way of health, vitality and fitness.
